Welcome to Familie. By downloading, installing, or using the Familie app, you agree to these Terms of Service ('Terms'). If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Description of Service

Familie is a family organization app that provides calendar, meal planning, grocery lists, chore tracking, budget management, photo sharing, document storage, emergency contacts, and an on-device AI assistant. The app is available on iOS and Android.

2. Accounts

  • You must create an account to use Familie. You can register with email/password, Google, or Apple Sign-In.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Children under 13 may use the app under parental supervision through a parent's family group.
  • You may only create one family group per account.

3. Family Groups

When you create or join a family group, you share data with other members of that group. All family members can view and edit shared content (events, chores, grocery lists, meal plans, budget, photos, and documents). You are responsible for who you invite to your family group.

4. Free Tier & Premium

Free Tier

Familie is free to download and use with the following limits:

  • Up to 20 photos
  • Up to 5 documents
  • Up to 3 family members
  • Ads are displayed

Premium (Lifetime Purchase)

A one-time purchase of $4.99 (USD) unlocks unlimited photos, documents, and family members, no ads, and all current and future premium features. The premium purchase covers your entire family group.

5. Payments & Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). Refund requests must be directed to the respective store.

6. Acceptable Use

  • Use Familie for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload harmful, abusive, or illegal content
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or hack the app
  • Interfere with the app's operation or other users' access
  • Create accounts for the purpose of abusing free-tier limits

7. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to Familie (photos, documents, text). By using the app, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the service. We do not use your content for advertising, training, or any purpose other than delivering Familie's features.

8. AI Assistant

Familie includes an on-device AI assistant. The AI processes your family data locally on your device to provide suggestions, summaries, and answers. The AI may occasionally produce inaccurate or unhelpful responses. AI-generated content is provided 'as is' and should not be relied upon for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.

9. Availability & Changes

We strive to keep Familie available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your access to shared family data will be revoked, but the family group and its data remain accessible to other members.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Familie and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app ($4.99 or $0 for free users).

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

Familie is provided 'as is' and 'as available' without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Philippines, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. The updated Terms will be posted with a new 'Last updated' date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
